AD'S CORNER Minnesota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Website MnIAAA Corner The Minnesota Association of Athletic Administrators is set to host our annual state conference in St. Cloud on April 1, 2 and 3. First Vice President Mark Solberg of Cambridge-Isanti has done a terrific job of organizing this year’s event. Crucial topics continue to be financing our local programs, sportsmanship and evaluation of staff. As an addition to our conference we are offering a day long workshop for administrative assistants; these valued individuals are the backbone of our programs thus it is important that we not only provide training but that we recognize their efforts. MnIAAA Executive Director Pete Veldman has recently be honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame with the Lifetime Service Award. Our membership is extremely proud of the work that Pete has done for us. Through his leadership and determination our organization is on solid financial ground and recognized as one of the top state organizations in the nation. The 1951 state heavyweight champion from Albert Lea HS looks like he could still go a couple of periods with today’s boys! As a side note Pete will also be honored at our state banquet with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Fred Sailer, President MnIAAA |
